HTC 11: Leaks, Specs, pricing and release date

Specifications of HTC's upcoming flagship phone have leaked online, revealing premium specifications and the latest software.

HTC 11 may launch in April to accommodate the Snapdragon 835 processor which will first launch with Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus handsets.

Until now, what most analysts believed was that HTC's U Ultra was the company's flagship offering this year. However, fresh leaks suggest that HTC may launch the HTC 11, successor to the not-so-successful HTC 10 but even more capable and powerful when compared to the U Ultra.

Can the U Ultra smartphone be HTC's comeback ticket?

A screenshot of the phone's 'About Phone' section was recently posted on Weibo, a popular social networking platform in China. The section reveals that HTC 11 will feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The phone may also feature a Quad HD display with a strange resolution of 1556 x 2550 pixels as well as HTC's new Sense 9.0 UI over Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS.

Samsung has cornered the entire inventory of Snapdragon 835 processors for its upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus handsets which will go on sale in April. This has forced LG to use the Snapdragon 821 chip in the upcoming G6 and has also forced Sony to delay the launch of its flagship 'Yoshino' smartphone which will launch later this year instead of at Mobile World Congress later this month. As such, it is highly unlikely that HTC will launch the HTC 11 with Snapdragon 835 so the company may either launch the phone with some other processor or may launch it in April like its predecessor.

HTC Desire 650: Specs, pricing and availability

Earlier this year, HTC launched the U Ultra, a 5.7-inch behemoth featuring a 3D contoured liquid surface as well as a second display which will display useful notifications. The secondary display will also let you access your favourite contacts, apps and reminders, very much like the secondary display in LG's V-series phones. The phone also features user-friendly and intuitive features like the HTC Sense Companion which works like an AI assistant, offering weather updates, lifestyle suggestions, battery status and restaurant recommendations.

The phone's internal specifications include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor, 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, a 2TB MicroSD slot, a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and a Quad HD Super LCD 5 display. HTC U Ultra will also be available as a premium 128GB variant which will also feature Sapphire Front Glass for better durability.
